Essential Grid simulates popular Microsoft applications. Users will find its interface to be friendly and familiar.

When text length is greater than cell width, cell contents can be made to float over adjacent empty cells, simulating the Microsoft Excel appearance.

Cell Float is a power feature that is not commonly available in third party grid controls. The flexibility offered by cell float when entering and formatting data is an added advantage of Grid Control.

Essential Grid supports accelerated scrolling through the grid, similar to Microsoft Office applications. Hold down the scroll button to generate accelerated scrolling. Users can also select cells and move them to the edge of the control's scrollable area to scroll through the grid.

Essential Grid is not directly tied to a Windows provided intrinsic scroll bar even though it fully supports it. Its scrolling implementation utilizes a different architecture that makes it fully independent of the intrinsic Windows scroll bar. Consequently, Essential Grid can be embedded in a tab/workbook and share scroll bars with other windows. It can also be hooked up to any independent scroll bar control.

Microsoft Excel is the most commonly used grid interface. Users have become familiar with it and rely on its powerful editing capabilities. A grid control that offers a standard MS Excel like interface will be easily usable for most Windows users.

Essential Grid supports complete MS Excel-like behavior with full support for Undo/Redo commands, MS Excel-like selection frame behavior and MS Excel-like current cell behavior. There are other areas such as cell formatting, scrolling and shared scroll bar support, where Essential Grid closely mimics MS Excel behavior.

RecordNavigation Control provides Microsoft Access-like scrolling through records. The user can scroll by clicking arrow buttons or by manually entering the record number.

Essential Grid supports a tabbed workbook format similar to MS Excel. Users can employ workbooks either in a form or MDIChild window.

Users have the option to display scroll tips when dragging the scroll bar thumb.

The text in the scroll tip can be adjusted with events.

The grid can also be scrolled in real time while the user moves the thumb.

The Grid Control offers complete support to perform clipboard operations with MS Excel while maintaining the format.

Essential Grid exposes excel-like Format Cells Dialog that aids in dynamic cell formatting. It now comes with the options such as Font, Number, Background and Alignment. With this feature available, you can format numerous grid cells in an interactive manner.
