Mail Merge

Essential DocIO lets you perform mail merge functionalities on templated documents with placeholders called mail merge fields. Essential DocIO can open these templates in-memory and replace the fields with data from custom datasources.

Using the Mail Merge functionality offered by Essential DocIO, mailing labels can be generated and printed. A main document is merged with a datasource containing information specific to each mailing label. The document content in mail merge with group markers will automatically be repeated for every record in the datasource.

Fields on templates can also be specified as placeholders for images.

Personalized letters created from Mail Merge are referred to as letter formatted documents. These can be created from pre-formatted templates in Essential DocIO.

Using the Mail Merge feature, custom envelopes can be created for mass mailing. The return address can be made the same on all envelopes, while the destination addresses can be made different.

The advanced Mail Merge capabilities of Essential DocIO make it an ideal reporting solution for dynamically generating, richly-formatted invoices.

Essential DocIO offers two events for Mail Merge to enhance and cusotmize its use and functionality. They are:

• MergeField - Used to enhance and format the merge fields that are in the document
• MergeImageField - Used for fomatting merged images

Nested Mail Merge feature can be used to generate documents from hierarchical content.
