Essential Studio 2008 Volume 1 (Final release) is now available for download. This version features complete support for Visual Studio.NET 2008, seamless integration with ASP.NET AJAX, state of the art Office 2007 controls, support for writing Microsoft Excel 2007 files, numerous other enhancements and bug fixes (Read me, Release Notes, What’s New).

On Saturday, October 27, Syncfusion will be featured as a gold sponsor at Code Camp Montreal, a free developer event which will feature seminars in both English and French. This code camp, put on by the Groupe d'usagers Visual Studio Montréal, will be taking place at the Marriott Chateau Champlain in downtown Montreal from 8AM to 5:45 PM on October 27, 2007. On Thursday, October 18, Syncfusion will be exhibiting at the free MSDN Event "Visual Studio 2008, Astoria, and Silverlight," which will feature sessions presented by .NET experts on all 3 topics. On Saturday, October 13, Syncfusion will be sponsoring the free, developer-driven CMAP Code Camp in Columbia, Maryland, which will feature seminars on a a host of topics presented by .NET industry experts. This code camp, put on by the Central Maryland Association of .NET Professionals and located at the Loyola College Graduate Center, Columbia Campus, will be held from 9AM to 5 PM on October 13, 2007. Registration is open and available here.

On Saturday, September 22nd, Syncfusion will be sponsoring the free, developer-driven Tallahassee Code Camp III, which will feature seminars on a wide range of topics and training for local speakers to become the next .NET rockstar. Syncfusion is currently exhibiting at Basta! in Mainz, Germany. Basta! is the largest German-speaking .NET independent conference dealing with the Microsoft .NET Framework. What you'll learn:
Creating an automated build can be a time consuming task. There is no need for this. This will walk through the creation of a full featured build server with CI Factory in just a few minutes. Afterward we will explorer how CI Factory works and how you can use it as a platform. Jay Flowers is the leader of the CI Factory open source project. He contributed the CI Factory section to the book Windows Developer Power Tools . Jay has also been involved in the MbUnit project and other smaller open source projects. Jay's day job is as a Software Configuration Management Ecowarrior.

Do not worry about Daylight Saving Time (DST) and the changing start and end dates. Essential Schedule is the only product within Essential Studio that will be affected by this change, and Essential Schedule relies on the operating system clock as its date and time source. If you apply the patches recommended by Microsoft, which can be found here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928388c, then you will have no Daylight Savings Time change problems with Essential Schedule.

The Energy Policy Act of 2005 stipulates that, beginning in March of 2007, DST dates will start three weeks earlier than they have in years past. DST will now take place on the second Sunday in March (March 11, 2007) at 2:00 AM, and they will end one week later at 2:00 AM on the first Sunday in November (November 4, 2007). This change affects the United States and Canada.
