Codie Awards voting underway
Syncfusion recognized as component leader by SIAA Essential Studio
among Code Awards finalists for 2005

Research Triangle Park, NC. - April 8, 2005 - The final round of voting for the Software & Information Industry Association's 2005 Codie Awards is now underway. Syncfusion's innovative Essential Studio, a finalist in the Best Software Component Product category, was selected from the larger field after rigorous evaluation by an independent panel of industry experts. When the final round of voting commenced Friday, April 1, 2005, the Codie Awards finalists were submitted to SIIA member companies for voting.

First-round judges included representatives from the software and information industry trade press, mainstream technology writers, analysts, consultants, and subject-matter experts. Second-round judging will be performed by SIIA member companies. Voting takes place at http://www.siia.net/codies/2005/vote/login.asp and will continue until April 30, 2005.

"It is a great honor to be among the finalists for the 20th annual Codie Awards, given the number of leading vendors competing for such validation this year," said Syncfusion, Inc. CEO Stefan Hoenig. "Our mission is to provide products that are extensible, powerful, and immensely valuable to developers. We consider Essential Studio's selection as a Codie finalist to be further confirmation that we are on track, and we are pleased that the current round of voting will also give the larger development community a voice."

"The 20th annual Codie Awards continue the tradition of honoring the best of the software, content, and education technology industries," said Ken Wasch, SIIA President. "When one considers the number of outstanding companies that competed this year, being named a Codie Awards finalist is a significant achievement." A complete listing of all 2005 categories and finalists is available at http://www.siia.net/codies/2005/finalists.asp.

The Codie Awards competition, which honors the software and digital content industry's most innovative products and services and acknowledges corporate excellence and philanthropic efforts, holds the distinction of being the only peer-recognition awards program of its kind in the industry, providing a unique opportunity for companies to earn the praise of their competitors. Now in their 20th year, the Codies remain the standard bearer for celebrating outstanding achievement and vision in the software industry. Past winners have included technology giants Microsoft, Apple, and Cisco Systems. Winners of the 20th Annual Codie Awards will be announced at the Codie Awards Gala on May 25, 2005 at Universal Studio's Globe Theater in Universal City, CA.
