Thursday, November 27, 2008 |
Developers will soon descend upon Chateau Champlain in Montreal to learn about the latest technologies, hone their programming skills, and potentially win a Dell Mini laptop from Syncfusion.
DevTeach 2008 runs from December 1 to December 5. The event will feature over 136 sessions designed to build various developer skills in areas such as software architecture, .NET development, and newer technologies on the horizon. Syncfusion is excited and proud to be a sponsor of this year’s DevTeach.
Attendees will find in their bags—issued at the door and full of freebies—a card with an entry code that can be used to register for a chance to win a Dell Mini, which Syncfusion will be giving away. But this isn’t the only item that can be won; each day of the event a license of Syncfusion Essential Studio Enterprise will also be given away, adding even more to the attendee bags.
| LA Code Camp brings in 500 attendees, rare speakers

Wednesday, November 27, 2008 |
Syncfusion sponsored three license giveaways at the Los Angeles Code Camp held on the weekend of October 25. The camp, organized by the Southern California .NET Developers Group, came at an opportune time—as the Microsoft Professional Developers Conference was taking place in LA that following Monday—allowing the camp to lasso in speakers it might not otherwise have snagged.
“They were here from all over the world for the Microsoft [PDC]”, says Maureen Thomas, Member Benefits Chairman for the SoCalDotNet developers group. “We had some actual software authors, and a lot of the Microsoft ‘evangelists’ present.”
Popular topics included Visual Studio 2008, SharePoint, and a lot of interest was garnered by Silverlight 2—especially with speakers such as Li Chen, a Silverlight developer, and Michael Washington, a Microsoft ASP.NET MVP, on hand.
The weekend closed with a Geek dinner, a tradition of the code camp, and a “home-made” concert fueled by Xbox and an edition of the video game “Rock Band”.
