Navigation Package

The Navigation package includes controls such as the GroupBar, GroupView, and the XPTaskBar. These are primarily used for implementing command lists where each command is represented by an image and/or text. The GroupBar implements a tab-type container that can serve as a host for a collection of GroupView or other Windows Forms controls. The GroupView is an extensively customizable list-type control capable of cloning the above listed popular command interfaces. The XPTaskBar may be used for displaying standard command items or as a container that can host several other controls.

The Groupbar control serves as a container for a set of functionally related controls and allows just one selected control to be visible at a time.

Groupbar Style

The Groupbar Control can be drawn in a wide range of Styles. Groupbar in 'Office 2003' and 'XP Theme' Style are illustrated below:

Stacked Groupbar

The Groupbar items are displayed in a stacked fashion when the groupbar operates in stacked mode.

When the Groupbar is in the stacked Mode, a navigation pane can be viewed at the bottom of the Groupbar. This helps users navigate to the different sections of the Groupbar. The position of the Groupbar controls can also be altered using options available in the Navigation pane.

Collapsible Groupbar

The groupbar can be collapsed, expanded or floated as per user convenience. This feature comes with a wide set of properties and events for easy customization. Groupbar in Collapsed, Expanded and floating state are illustrated below:

Integrated Scrolling

GroupView Icon Mode

The GroupView control can be used to display a list of items, represented by a descriptor and an image. These images can be drawn small or large as needed.

Button Type Selection

The GroupView items can be viewed and selected as buttons in the 'Button-Type Selection' mode as illustrated below:

Flow View Mode

The items in GroupView can be displayed in a flow-like fashion, side by side. The default settiing displays only the item image and ignores the descriptor.

When needed, the item text can also be displayed with the image as seen in Microsft Visio.

The height of the items in the GroupView can be altered as desired.

XPTaskBar

The XPTaskbar control provides the taskbar look and feel popularized in Windows XP with collapsible boxes that show links to common tasks. The XPTaskbarbox can be nested in the XPTaskBar and acts as a panel to host various items.
