Navigation Package

The Navigation package includes controls such as the GroupBar, GroupView, and the XPTaskBar. These are primarily used for implementing command lists where each command is represented by an image and/or text. The GroupBar implements a tab-type container that can serve as a host for a collection of GroupView or other Windows Forms controls. The GroupView is an extensively customizable list-type control capable of cloning the above listed popular command interfaces. The XPTaskBar may be used for displaying standard command items or as a container that can host several other controls.

The Groupbar control serves as a container for a set of functionally related controls and allows just one selected control to be visible at a time.

The Groupbar Control can be drawn in a wide range of Styles. Groupbar in 'Office 2003' and 'XP Theme' Style are illustrated below:

The XP themes effect can also be imposed on the GroupBar.

The new Microsoft Office 2007 Visual Styles, can be applied to the GroupBar Items in different Color Schemes to enhance the appearance of the control.

The Groupbar items are displayed in a stacked fashion when the groupbar operates in stacked mode.

When the Groupbar is in the stacked Mode, a navigation pane can be viewed at the bottom of the Groupbar. This helps users navigate to the different sections of the Groupbar. The position of the Groupbar controls can also be altered using options available in the Navigation pane.

The groupbar can be collapsed, expanded or floated as per user convenience. This feature comes with a wide set of properties and events for easy customization. Groupbar in Collapsed, Expanded and floating state are illustrated below:

Scroll buttons can be included for client controls in the Groupbar using its integrated scrolling features. Scrolling integrated to a client control is illustrated below:

The Groupbar Item text can be aligned to left, right or center as illustrated below:

The Groupbar Items can be used to host any Windows Forms or Syncfusion control. Thus the Groupbar control can be deployed as a Generic Control Container.

The GroupBar Control includes options for renaming items at runtime.

The GroupView control can be used to display a list of items, represented by a descriptor and an image. These images can be drawn small or large as needed.

The GroupView items can be viewed and selected as buttons in the 'Button-Type Selection' mode as illustrated below:

The items in GroupView can be displayed in a flow-like fashion, side by side. The default settiing displays only the item image and ignores the descriptor.

When needed, the item text can also be displayed with the image as seen in Microsft Visio.

The height of the items in the GroupView can be altered as desired.

The GroupView Control Provides options for viewing its items in a flat look mode.

Customization options are available for highlighted Items in the Groupview control.

The highlighted text can also be underlined, as shown in the above image.

The items in the GroupView Control can be drawn with a themed effect as illustrated below:

Tooltips attributing individual GroupView items, can be provided while using the GroupView control.

The GroupView Control includes options for renaming the descriptor of its items at runtime.

The built-in drag-and-drop capability of the GroupView control enables the usser to move and copy items within and between GroupView Controls. Drag-and-drop of GroupView Item is illustrated below:

Text Wrap options are available for the descriptor provided for the GroupView items.

The XPTaskbar control provides the taskbar look and feel popularized in Windows XP with collapsible boxes that show links to common tasks. The XPTaskbarbox can be nested in the XPTaskBar and acts as a panel to host various items.

The XPTaskBarBoxes in the TaskBar can be expanded and collapsed as per user needs.

Each item in the XPTaskBarBox can be associated with an unique image.

Further, handlers can also be provided for the click event of each item.

The XPTaskBarBox can host a panel, containing any Windows Forms or Syncfusion controls.

Tooltips can be provided for individual XPTaskBarBox items.

Tooltip options for disabled XPTaskBarBox items are also available.

Items can be dragged and dropped into the same or another XPTaskBarBox.

The header text in the XPTaskBarBox can be aligned Near, Center or Far as illustrated below:

The XPTaskbar framework supports the usage of large images in the XPTaskBar box header.

Options to hide or show XPTaskBarBox items are available. These items can also be disabled as shown below:

Customized Drawing options are available for the XPTaskBar Control.

The spacing to left of the text, for an XPTaskBarBox item, can be modified as needed.

The item font can be customized as needed for the XPTaskBarBox items.

The Forecolor of the header text in the XPTaskBarBox can be modified as needed.

Office 2007 style look and feel is supported by XPTaskBar. Along with the three color schemes Blue, Silver and Black, it also supports custom colors.
