Essential Studio 2008 Volume 4 is the fourth major version of Syncfusion Essential Studio to support Visual Studio 2008.

Essential Studio 2008 Volume 4 WPF edition has been further expanded to include four brand new controls - Edit, Heat Map, Diagram and Gauge. Existing controls have also been greatly enhanced with several new features that include Microsoft Excel-like formula support for the Grid. Another notable addition to the Essential Tools WPF package is a Skin Manager control that works with both Syncfusion and built-in framework controls to greatly simplify the task of customizing application appearance.

Essential Studio 2008 Volume 4 ASP.NET edition is a standards compliant, AJAX enabled ASP.NET component suite with solid performance characteristics. Essential Studio for ASP.NET includes a suite of high performance ASP.NET AJAX enabled components. These components include a lightning fast Grid with unique features such as server-side grouping. Server-side grouping enables excellent performance even with very large sets of data. Essential Studio 2008 Volume 4 greatly enhances standards compliance and makes it possible to build high performance ASP.NET websites that are guaranteed to work cross-platform on Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari.

Essential Studio 2008 Volume 4 Windows Forms has been greatly enhanced with several new features including a brand new Breadcrumb control which offers navigation similar to the Vista Explorer interface.

Essential Studio 2008 Volume 4 Back Office edition includes enhancements to Essential XlsIO to enable its functioning in medium trust settings. This greatly simplifies deployment in shared hosting environments. Essential PDF has several enhancements that include PDF/A, compliance and the addition of a native bar code support. Essential DocIO now has greatly improved Microsoft Office 2007 file format support and mail merge functionalities.
